New online bachelor’s degree prepares students to build, deploy and manage the next generation of AI systems.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how people work, solve problems and build technology. As AI evolves from tools that generate content to increasingly sophisticated systems that can reason, act and collaborate, organizations will need professionals who understand not only how to use AI, but how to build and manage it.
City University of Seattle is helping prepare students for that future with its new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (BSAI), an online undergraduate degree designed to develop the technical foundations and applied skills needed to work with emerging AI technologies.
The program begins in January 2027 and is offered fully online.
Learn how AI works, from machine learning to autonomous agents
AI is developing quickly, and the skills required to work in the field continue to expand.
CityU’s BSAI combines foundational computing topics such as operating systems, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, databases, data structures and algorithms with specialized study in artificial intelligence.
Students can explore areas including AI engineering, machine learning and deep learning, generative AI, agentic AI, MLOps and AgentOps, digital twins, and physical AI.
Rather than focusing only on AI theory, the curriculum emphasizes how intelligent systems are developed, deployed, monitored and maintained in real-world environments.
Prepare for the next generation of AI careers
The expansion of artificial intelligence is creating new possibilities both within established technology careers and in emerging specialties.
CityU’s BSAI is designed to prepare graduates for opportunities such as AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic AI Engineer, MLOps/AgentOps Engineer, Physical AI Engineer and AI Workflow Architect.
Students will also develop broader computing, data and operational skills that can apply to the development and deployment of intelligent systems across industries.
Build practical AI skills without putting your life on hold
For many students, going back to school has to fit alongside work, family and existing responsibilities.
The Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence is offered online, allowing students to build AI and computing skills without needing to step away from their other priorities. CityU also allows students to transfer up to 135 approved undergraduate credits, subject to evaluation, which can help eligible transfer students make progress toward completing their degree.
Students learn from experienced faculty who bring industry knowledge into the classroom, helping connect technical concepts with practical applications.
AI is changing what’s possible. Learn how to build what comes next.
Artificial intelligence isn’t simply becoming another workplace tool. It is increasingly becoming part of the technology infrastructure behind how organizations operate, analyze information and build new products and experiences.
For students who want to participate in that transformation, the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence provides a path to develop both the computing foundation and specialized AI knowledge needed to move from using AI to building with it.
The first cohort begins January 2027.
