At City University of Seattle, faculty bring more than academic expertise to the classroom. They bring professional experience, practical insights, and a commitment to helping students apply what they learn to their careers.
Dr. LeeAnn Miller exemplifies that approach.
LeeAnn joined CityU’s School of Business and Management as Associate Faculty in 2020 after building more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including extensive work in sales and leadership. Today, she draws on that experience while teaching courses in finance, marketing, management, ethics, and statistics across CityU’s undergraduate, MBA, and DBA programs.
For LeeAnn, teaching is about more than explaining concepts. It’s about helping students understand how those concepts apply beyond the classroom.
Known for her calm, engaging teaching style, LeeAnn creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, participating in discussions, and working through challenging material. She regularly provides additional resources and individualized guidance to help students build confidence and connect their coursework to real-world situations.
From Faculty Member to CityU Graduate
LeeAnn’s connection to CityU extends beyond her role as a faculty member.
In 2023, she earned her Doctor of Business Administration from CityU, graduating with Highest Distinction. Her quantitative research examined MBA sales education and program effectiveness through job placement outcomes.
She also holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Illinois Chicago.
In 2026, LeeAnn was promoted to Principal Faculty within the School of Business and Management, recognizing her continued leadership and contributions to the CityU community.
Supporting Students and the CityU Community
LeeAnn’s commitment to helping others succeed extends well beyond her courses. She frequently volunteers her time for university initiatives, shares resources and ideas with fellow faculty, and steps forward when opportunities arise to support students and colleagues.
Whether she is teaching, mentoring, sharing her professional experience, or supporting a new initiative, LeeAnn brings the same focus to her work: helping others move forward.
Her combination of industry experience, academic accomplishment, approachable teaching style, and commitment to service reflects the kind of practical, student-centered learning experience CityU strives to provide.
