Corporate Risk – New Emphasis Area and Specialized Study

As economies and markets throughout the world become more connected and inter-dependent, businesses and corporations face a greater need to identify, manage and hedge risks to their operations. With corporate risk fast becoming a growing field that requires skilled professionals, CityU is excited to offer courses through our School of Management that teach topics ranging from cyber-crime to risk prevention.

CityU’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration now features a Corporate Risk emphasis area, and Bachelor of Arts in Management students can opt to select a specialized study track in this area of study. CityU is one of only a handful of universities to offer this in the country and is delighted to meet a growing need seen in businesses across a variety of sectors.

Every organization needs people who can understand and assess outside and internal risks. While actuarial science programs have traditionally taught these skills, in today’s climate, companies are looking for business-savvy professionals with a big picture mindset.

Graduates with degrees in business and knowledge of corporate risk are well suited for careers in fraud investigation, corporate compliance and are equipped to work as business analysts and risk analysts.
