Nancy, a winner of the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics, has had her approach to education covered by the Seattle Times and has seen outstanding returns on student engagement with this methodology. In addition to her role a Teaching Faculty at CityU, Nancy works as a Gifted Education Specialist in the Lake Washington School District.
Nancy’s Teaching with Gaming and Discussion presentation will give attendees insight into her success in the classroom, and discuss how she’s developed a curriculum that engages students in complex mathematical thinking without forcing them to do isolated computation… simply by adding content to the problem-solving process!
